Singapore is a melting pot of different cultures comprising various ethnic communities, such as the Chinese, Malays, Indians and Eurasians, who maintain their distinct cultures and traditions while embracing a shared national identity. This cultural diversity is manifested in the sheer number and variety of festivals on Singapore’s calendar. Some of the major festivals observed in Singapore include Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali and Christmas.
Curated with students from Chung Cheng High School (Main) and River Valley High School, this exhibition showcases how Singaporeans of different races and religions celebrate their respective festivals and highlights the common threads found in these festivals!
